Everything about the Battle Company BRX.
Hardware, operation, gameplay, sound, repairs and the full developer protocol. Gathered from Battle Company's documents, the community and the bench, and written once. Only confirmed facts are published.
- HardwareThis page names every part of the BRX tagger, headset and grenade.
- OperateThis page covers stock BRX gear: a tagger, a headset, maybe a grenade, and the Callsign app.
- GameplayThis page covers every weapon the BRX can fire, how health and damage work, every native game mode and its settings.
- SoundHow BRX plays sound: what the gun does on its own, what a host has to trigger, and how to change what you hear over USB or through a firmware update.
- Sound bankEvery sound id stored on the BRX gun, in one searchable table, with its meaning where we know it and a community label where the community has one.
- FixDiagnose a tagger that won't fire, work through the fix ladders for pairing, sound and battery, and see what the community repairs.
- DeveloperThis is the interoperability spec for the BRX tagger and headset: transport, framing, every known command and event with its field map.
- Confirmed facts only. A fact is bench-verified, in an official document, or uncontradicted community practice before it is published here. When sources disagree, neither value is.
- Open source. The manual is plain markdown in the Open BRX repository. Found an error or know something we do not? Open an issue or a pull request.

01 ยท What is it?
A laser tag gun and headset, sold by Battle Company.
The BRX is a rifle-shaped infrared laser tag gun with a wireless headset that senses hits, made by Battle Company and built like it walked out of Halo. It shoots a coded infrared beam, plays a speaker full of sounds, runs on a rechargeable pack, and talks Bluetooth to a phone. Battle Company's own words for it: "a serious laser tag system for the home user, not some junkie toy with no gameplay depth", down to sighting in your own scope. This manual is the community's single place for everything known about it: how it works, how to run it, how to fix it, and every command it understands.
